In collaboration with the Engineering and Physical Science Research Council (EPSRC), AHRC is calling for development of early stage research partnerships exploring the creation of “new immersive experiences that address the three key themes of memory, place, and performance.

The aim is to support new interdisciplinary research that has the potential to develop into larger scale projects suitable for future funding. It will support partnership building, concept formation, and prototyping projects of 6-9 months duration.

The call is aimed at arts and humanities researchers, technology and social science researchers, and creative economy industrial partners – which includes computer games developers. Researchers in a variety of technologically-minded fields, including cyber security, telecommunications, satellite and space technology, software engineering, computer graphics, and more, are also encouraged to apply.

An Immersive Experiences: Briefing Event, supported by TRC Media, will be held on Wednesday 5th July in Glasgow to provide more information and enable applicants to meet and network with potential partners. It will also explore the themes of memory, place, and performance, and how to apply them to your field.

A joint electronic submission system will open in September, with a deadline for proposal submissions on 5th October 2017. For more information, including who is eligible to apply, visit the Immersive Experiences event page.
