Annie Lennox Announced as Speaker at TEDxGlasgow 2019

In tune with this year’s ‘Connection’ theme, the internationally acclaimed singer, songwriter and human rights activist will take to the stage in Glasgow to discuss global feminism.

TEDxGlasgow has announced the full line-up of speakers to take to the stage to present ideas on the theme of ‘Connection’ at this year’s event.

Award-winning musician, Annie Lennox, will be joined by a host of other high-profile speakers including; Skyscanner’s former COO, Mark Logan, biometrics campaigner Pippa King, Baroness Helena Kennedy (QC), and comedy writer Amna Saleem.

Due to take place on June 14th at Glasgow’s iconic SEC Armadillo, over 2,000 attendees are expected to be in attendance and will be hosted by current affairs specialist Clare English and comedian Fred MacAulay. Women in technology, human rights, and social justice are key topics that will be covered over the course of the day.

Jude Ower, CEO and Founder of Playmob, Anand Menon, Professor of European Politics and Foreign Affairs at King’s College London, David Allfrey, Producer and Chief Executive of The Royal Military Tattoo, and Amar Latif, an award-winning entrepreneur will also be speaking at the event.

Last year saw the event cover a variety of tech topics including robotics, hyper-loops and the use of artificial intelligence in treating aggressive cancer – featuring key tech figures such as Professor Sethu Vijayakumar from the University of Edinburgh.
