There’s still time to get your entries into the 2018 Digital Technology Awards. The competition is still looking for Scotland’s most innovative, disruptive and pioneering new companies, products and services, but entries close on February 16th.
Entries to the Digital Tech Awards are free for all entrants. Organised by ScotlandIS, the awards celebrate Scotland’s incredible range of digital technology businesses and showcase the country’s creativity, talent, achievement, innovation and business success.
2018 marks the eighth year of the competition, which offer a range of categories for companies and organisations at all stages and of all sizes.
The Best Tech Business of the Year category offers awards for large, medium and small businesses, while the Best Product awards are split to include business-to-business (B2B), business-to-consumer (B2C), financial services and public sector trophies.
The 2018 competition also welcomes a new Leadership Award category, to highlight the leaders within Scotland’s organisations who inspire their colleagues, with the determination to grow and shape successful businesses.
The categories for the 2018 awards are:
Best B2B Technology Product/Service
Innovative, disruptive products and services lie at the heart of the most successful technology businesses. This award recognises achievements in harnessing the power of digital to secure market success.
Best B2C Technology Product/Service
Technology-savvy consumers have created huge market opportunities for those rapidly evolving businesses that understand how to attract and sell to individuals using the wealth of new digital channels that are now available.
Best Financial Services Product/Service
This category can be entered by both in-house IT departments and by SMEs selling into the financial services sector in Scotland and further afield. We are looking for exciting, far-reaching technology-based solutions to some of the big challenges facing the industry.
Best Public Sector Product/Service
This category is open to government departments and agencies including health, education, enterprise and ‘blue-light’ services as well as charities/not-for-profit organisations – and the companies that supply these markets. Judges will be looking for evidence of how innovative technology solutions have been used to revolutionise and streamline delivery of essential public services.
Best Education Provider/Training Programme
Great people make great businesses. Identifying and maximising the skills abundant in a business can galvanise action and accelerate growth. Education and training are fundamental to this approach.
Transformational Innovation Through Data (sponsored by The Data Lab)
Innovative uses of data and analytics can drive significant transformation for organisations, ranging from improved business performance or operations through to driving new solutions and capabilities. Â This award is to recognise teams or individuals who have used Data to innovate and transform their business, their client relationships or the services and products they deliver.
Outstanding Marketing Performance in a Tech Company
A campaign or strategy that has truly stood out from the crowd. It should demonstrate a clear return on investment and demonstrate how objectives were met and how the campaign was deemed a success.
Leader of the Year (sponsored by Head Resourcing)
Growing a technology company takes ambition, vision, market insight and spades of hard work. This award will recognise the CEO or MD who has the proven leadership skills to inspire their team and the dogged determination to grow their business even when the going gets tough.
Digital Agency of the Year
We will be looking for the agency which has brought genuine flair and imagination to their client’s brief. Original thinking, impressive execution and – above all – clear results from a project or commission. Client testimonials will be particularly important in this category.
Digital Tech Business of the Year (sponsored by Net Talent)
Our top awards will go to the businesses that most impress the judges with their commercial and financial success. The business will be demonstrably well-managed, produce outstanding technology products or services – and above all has outstanding long-term growth potential.
