Administrate, the Edinburgh-based learning and training management software company, has secured £3.05 million in a new funding round—just over a year after it raised a £5m investment.
The British Business Bank’s Investment Fund for Scotland, which is managed by Maven Capital Partners, provided £1m towards this new round. Archangels and Mercia, existing investors, also supported it.
The tech firm’s latest investment coincides with the launch of its new AI scheduling tool, which helps enterprise customers with the planning and management of learning and training activities at scale.
The new funds will help Administrate expand its market reach by deploying the AI tech to its diverse group of international customers. It boasts Siemens, Maersk, and Royal Caribbean among its roster of customers.
Speaking on the investment and AI tool, John Peebles, Administrate CEO, said: “It’s an exciting time for Administrate and our customers – we’ve been thrilled with the positive impact we’re seeing with the scheduler and other platform improvements, and this investment will allow us to continue to invest in and scale our offering.”
Mark Sterritt, director of nations and regions funds at the British Business Bank, added: “The software developed by Administrate is already being used successfully by several multi-national organisations and this funding boost will enable the business to take that one step further with inbuilt AI.
“Technology is one of Scotland’s fastest growing sectors, but ensuring entrepreneurs have access to funding opportunities through the likes of the Investment Fund for Scotland is essential to ensure that momentum continues.”

Back in July of last year, Administrate raised £5 million from the aforementioned Scottish Investment Bank, Archangels, and Mercia, and also welcomed Hambro Perks as a new capital partner.
The funds will be deployed to support the company’s growth and continue to meet the needs of its diverse and growing North American enterprise customer base.
