UK construction firm, McLaren Construction, has partnered with connectivity and network specialist Clarus Networks Group to deploy Starlink satellite connectivity to construction sites across the UK.

The partnership aims to deliver high-speed internet connectivity throughout the UK with minimal setup.

Within 12 months, Starlink satellite technology has now become the primary connectivity method for most UK McLaren construction projects.

Clarus Networks Group’s installation offers managed internet connectivity that can support McLaren’s construction operations, as well as innovative technology like real-time monitoring and AI.

Digital transformation is often key to company’s growth, and expansion in construction requires secure and reliable internet connection. McLaren must ensure compliance with building safety legislation and demonstrate robust digital information management for all aspects of design, procurement, change control and quality control.

“We have increased investment in our people, skills, and tools to enhance digital construction delivery across the board,” Daniel Blackman, IT director at McLaren, said.

“This level of growth in data generation and consumption at our construction projects demands a modern IT architecture with innovative connectivity methods.

McLaren says that Starlink as supported their company’s cloud-first architecture, enhancing productivity and reducing IT service disruptions.
