Boston Networks, the Glasgow-based company which provides fixed and wireless networks, intelligent building systems and fire & security solutions has acquired London-based PEL Services Limited as part of its plans for UK-wide growth.

The acquisition is the first since specialist investor Aliter Capital acquired a stake in Boston Networks in January 2018. Aliter, which is based in Glasgow and London, focuses on investment in small to mid-size UK support service businesses. The investor is now pro-actively working with Boston to deliver ongoing growth and target further complementary acquisitions.

The newly combined company will employ 150 specialist staff, giving it the resources to work with major public and private sector customers across the UK. The senior management team at PEL will continue to manage the business, working alongside Boston CEO Scott McEwan.

Established in 2000, Boston Networks is an integrated technologies specialist working across IT network infrastructure. Over the last few years, Boston Networks has completed a range of major contracts, including projects and services for the Queen Elizabeth University & Children’s Hospital, the 2014 Commonwealth Games and the 2014 Ryder Cup.

Founded in 1976, PEL is an owner-managed, South-East based sound, fire, security and audio visual (AV) solutions company with a national coverage across a broad range of private and public-sector customers. PEL provides design, installation, supply and maintenance solutions and its strong presence in London and the South East will contribute to Boston’s strategic plan to expand its national footprint.
