Welcome to March 2026’s DIGIT Deal Roundup.
It’s raining cash (hallelujah!) for startups and scaleups across the Scottish tech scene, with funding for a host of medtech, climate-tech, and deeptech firms, not to mention £200K dedicated to making Edinburgh the “world’s most flexible-working friendly city”.
Last month also saw tens of millions pledged for ecosystem development, with the UK Government ramping up its support for the Tay Cities Region’s buzzing creative scene and Scottish Enterprise earmarking nearly £10 million for the development of a “tech terrace” in Renfrew.
Rounding out the month, we’ve got news of a new deal inked by Stellar Omada and another acquisition by Aspire Technology Solutions, the firm’s third in two years.

Funding
Scottish HealthTech Bioliberty Raises £6.2M in Series A Investment
Edinburgh-based healthtech Bioliberty has secured a £6.2m Series A raise, led by £3m from the Scottish National Investment Bank, alongside existing investors Archangels, Eos Advisory, Old College Capital, and Hanna Capital SEZC, as well as new investor Conduit Connect.
The full Series A round, expected to close later this year, follows a £1.5m pre-Series A in mid-2025 for the Edinburgh Uni spinout, which develops technology combining AI with soft‑robotic wearables to support the rehabilitation of people recovering from mobility-limiting conditions or injuries.
The funding will support product development and manufacturing in Scotland and commercial expansion in the US, where the firm’s tech is already used in several rehabilitation facilities.
“This funding will enable us to grow our team in Scotland, create high‑value jobs, and continue building technology here that supports better rehabilitation outcomes,” said Rowan Armstrong, co‑founder and CEO of Bioliberty.

Edinburgh ClimateTech Earth Blox Raises £6M to Scale
Earth Blox, an Edinburgh-based firm helping organisations understand how nature loss and climate hazards affect financial performance, has secured £6 million in new investment led by PXN Ventures with support from Scottish Enterprise, follow-on investment from Archangels and funding from the European Space Agency.
The funding will be used to grow the Earth Blox team, accelerate product development, and expand the platform’s capabilities by combining satellite, environmental, and portfolio data with AI-powered analysis.
Earth Blox’s customers include global banks, consumer brands, energy companies and agribusinesses, with the company recently collaborating with Lloyds Banking Group to conduct the UK’s largest nature risk assessment in agriculture, identifying more than 1.2 million hectares with potential for resilience-building measures.
“What’s particularly exciting is how the business has evolved, from a strong earth observation proposition to a platform that’s now directly addressing some of the most pressing financial risks facing global banks and businesses,” said Niki McKenzie, joint managing director at Archangels.

Glasgow Healthtech Entourage AI Lands $5M Pre-Seed Raise
Healthtech spinout Entourage AI has announced a pre-seed raise of $5 million (£3.75m) alongside the opening of a new research and operations centre in Glasgow.
Using its proprietary platform to analyse thousands of human proteins, the firm provides customers with detailed maps of individual organ wellness, alongside personalised insights into how fast their body is ageing compared to their chronological age.
With this pre-seed investment, led by Provision, alongside Glasgow University’s investment arm, GU Holdings Ltd, and angel investors, the company has established a new research centre in Glasgow’s West of Scotland Science Park, with a suite of Thermo Fisher Scientific Mass Spectrometry assets on hand for product development.

Glasgow Uni Spin-out Raises £1.6M for Cancer-detecting AI
University of Glasgow spinout TileBio has secured £1.6m seed investment, led by Twin Path Ventures with participation from Scottish Enterprise and GU Holdings Ltd, to launch AI technology that learns ‘the language of cancer’.
The firm has developed a platform that allows AI systems to directly learn from millions of unlabelled medical pathology images to increase the speed and accuracy of life-saving diagnosis, with the investment providing runway to achieve the key technical and validation milestones required.
The long-term aim is to train one of the largest pathology foundation models globally using more than two million whole slide images from NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, working closely with the organisation through formal data governance frameworks.
“Traditional medical AI has been constrained by the need for expensive, biased, and labour-intensive ground-truth data. We have developed a method that allows AI systems to interpret the language of tissue directly from millions of unlabelled images,” said Dr Walsh, TileBio CEO.

STAC Funds Three Glasgow DeepTech Firms With £772,000
Scotland’s industry-led technology accelerator STAC has completed its second investment round, backing three companies whose technologies sit at the heart of national priorities.
The £772,000 round, co-invested by STAC Invest syndicate, brings investment to Quantcore Technologies, Vuabl and Airspection. All three have completed STAC’s intensive 18-month accelerator programme, with Vuabl and Airspection establishing their first HQ’s at thebeyond, STAC’s technology hub in Glasgow.
“These three companies show exactly what STAC is for. Together, they demonstrate the breadth and ambition of what is being built here in Glasgow. Local and global impact at scale,” said Paul Wilson, CEO and co-founder of STAC.

Aberdeen TechX Accelerator Kicks Off With £400k Funding
Aberdeen-based Net Zero Technology Centre (NZTC) has announced eight startups selected for its 2026 TechX Accelerator, sharing £400,000 to develop clean energy technologies that speed up the transition to net zero.
This year’s startups are focused on some of the energy sector’s toughest challenges, including making floating offshore wind cheaper and faster to build, cutting emissions from high‑temperature industrial processes, and producing geothermal power systems for remote locations.
“What unites this year’s cohort is a focus on the hard stuff – keeping turbines turning in harsh conditions, decarbonising industrial heat, making hydrogen inherently safe and baseload power genuinely clean,” said Mark Anderson, chief acceleration officer and TechX Director at the NZTC.

SWURF Secures £200K for Edinburgh Expansion
SWURF, the Edinburgh-based remote working platform, has announced a new £200,000 funding round to accelerate the firm’s expansion across the capital, with the aim of turning Edinburgh into the world’s “most flexible-working friendly city”.
The investment will drive the rollout of the company’s SWURF Pods, on-demand private meeting spaces designed for professionals who require immediate privacy for sensitive business calls. The pods feature advanced soundproofing, private WiFi networks with security-grade encryption, smart LED lighting, air filtration systems, and ergonomic seating.
The new SWURF Pods join those already in use at Edinburgh Airport and YOTEL on the capital’s Queen Street, with the firm aiming for Edinburgh workers to always be within 15 minutes of a Pod location.

Investment
£9.7m Investment Set to Create ‘World-Class’ Tech Terrace in Renfrew
Partnering with Renfrewshire Council and Buccleuch Property, Scottish Enterprise has approved a £9.7 million package aimed at driving innovation in the advanced manufacturing sector for Scotland.
The investment will be used to create a major new development in Renfrew, named Tech Terrace, which will be built at the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District Scotland (AMIDS). The development will look to provide a world-class, high-value manufacturing cluster within a campus environment, allowing organisations to work collaboratively and scale.
The £4.74 million Scottish Enterprise funding will be matched by AMIDS joint venture partners, Renfrewshire Council and Buccleuch Property, giving the sector opportunities to boost innovation, deliver pioneering breakthroughs and drive Scotland’s economic growth.
“It is important we continue to provide the right support and conditions that help drive the phenomenal developments taking place across the country’s high-growth, high-innovation industries in order to maximise their economic potential,” said business minister Richard Lochhead.

Edinburgh Uni’s Quantum Software Lab Wins £20M Investment
The UK Government has pledged £20 million for the University of Edinburgh’s Quantum Software Lab, an investment which will further the development of critical quantum software and applications across sectors such as healthcare, energy, finance and cybersecurity.
The funding will support a major new four-year programme, Quantum Advantage TurboCHarger (QATCH), led by the Quantum Software Lab in collaboration with the National Quantum Computing Centre, and support the recruitment of key positions from early-career scientists to senior tenure-track researchers.
“To turn this unprecedented hardware investment into provable economic impact, our new QATCH programme will launch the UK’s first full-stack feedback loop, serving as the software engine that translates fundamental theory into verified applications,” said Professor Elham Kashefi, from Edinburgh Uni’s School of Informatics.

Tay Cities Region Wins £20M Funding for Creative Tech Growth
The Tay Cities Region has won £20 million of UK Government investment to turbocharge its local creative tech sector.
In a push to create jobs and boost the local economy, the funding, awarded as part of the competitive strand of the government’s Local Innovation Partnerships Fund, aims to give innovators across Angus, Dundee, Fife, and Perth & Kinross the chance to fast‑track their ideas and open up routes to further investment.
The funding package is also designed to back collaborative R&D projects and pull expert talent into the Region’s gaming sector, supporting everything from cutting‑edge design to emerging technologies like immersive VR, opening the door for a new wave of high‑growth businesses.
“This is an investment in the skills and talent which have turned the Tay Cities Region into one of the UK’s most vibrant tech sectors,” said UK tech secretary Liz Kendall.

Stellar Omada Lands Eight-figure HMRC Contract
Edinburgh-headquartered tech services company Stellar Omada has secured a five-year contract worth over £10 million with HMRC.
The HMRC Application Testing Services (ATS) Lot 1 contract is designed to provide HM Revenue & Customs with high-quality, end-to-end testing services. As an appointee, Stellar Omada will leverage its experience in digital transformation and rigorous QA methodologies to support HMRC’s commitment to “making tax digital”, and enhancing user experiences for citizens.
“Securing the HMRC ATS Lot 1 contract is a landmark achievement for Stellar Omada as we continue to grow at pace,” said Colin Frame, founder and MD of Stellar Omada.

Acquisitions
Aspire Strengthens Scotland Footprint With NVT Group Acquisition
Aspire Technology Solutions has completed the acquisition of managed service provider NVT Group, headquartered in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire – marking the company’s third acquisition in two years.
The acquisition forms part of Aspire’s continued UK growth strategy, further scaling its presence in Scotland and enhancing its ability to deliver secure, integrated technology solutions. NVT Group supports over 90 organisations and brings a highly experienced team of 49 employees, alongside long-standing customer relationships.
All employees have transferred to Aspire as part of the transaction, and the combined team will operate from the Glasgow hub under Aspire’s leadership, with services integrated into its delivery model.
