Turing Talks – Challenging The Way We Change The World
The use of disruptive technology in the developing world is the focus of the first ever Turing Talks, which takes place at the National Museum of Scotland on June 13th 2017 – and DIGITÂ readers can get 70% off tickets for a limited time.
The goal of the Turing Talks is to ‘challenge the way you change the world’ and features a diverse range of experts exploring how technology can be used throughout developing countries.
Topics covered at the event include generating power, educating children, controlling the spread of infectious diseases, improving disaster management, creating off-grid energy, delivering aid to conflict areas and connecting the rest of the world to the global internet.

The event will be chaired by Bernie Hollywood OBE, Social Entrepreneur, Adventurer, Author, Film Maker, Inventor and World Record Holder, who has so far raised £39.8 Million for UK charities.
Alongside the conference agenda, the Talks will also feature an exhibition including a demonstration of the SolarBerry, the innovative, self-financing, community-owned off-the-grid computer lab, powered by solar energy with energy-efficient Raspberry Pi computers. There’s also a chance to inspect the latest models of Tesla electric cars and discover innovative work from students at Scottish universities.
The Turing Talks will help fund the vital work done by the Turing Trust charity, bridging the digital divide in Africa.
