With just one week remaining until the 22nd of July deadline, DIGIT is issuing a final call for entries to the inaugural Scottish Financial Technology Awards.

Finalists for the awards will be shortlisted in August, with the winners announced at the awards ceremony and gala dinner on the 25th of September at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Edinburgh.

The Awards have been launched to recognise innovation, customer outcomes and socio-economic impact across Scotland’s financial service sector; highlighting some of the incredible organisations and individuals playing a crucial role in developing the nation’s fintech ecosystem.

Scotland commands a strong reputation as a financial services hub and has long been a key location for international firms such as JP Morgan, HSBC, Morgan Stanley, CYBG, RBS and BlackRock. Organisations such as these provide a large number of high-skilled jobs in Scotland, with JP Morgan’s Glasgow-based European Technology Centre employing approximately 1,300 people.

The fintech sector has also experienced significant growth in recent years with a marked increase in the number of fintech SMEs – from more established companies such as Nucleus Financial and FreeAgent to newer entrants such as Castlight Financial, LendingCrowd and Sustainably.
