Cloud First Summit 2023
The Cloud First Summit will contextualise the rapid transition to cloud-based services and discuss the benefits of cloud technology for businesses.

There is now just one day to go until the 2022 Cloud First Summit, held live and in-person at Dynamic Earth in Edinburgh on 16th June.

Since the pandemic, Cloud-based services have seen a massive uptake, driven by a rapid requirement to support large-scale remote working. With Gartner predicting that global spending on public Cloud will reach over $482 billion in 2022, up from $313bn in 2020, this trend shows no sign of abating.

For many organisations, the shift to Cloud forms part of a wider infrastructure transformation, moving from physical, on-premise IT to a service-based model which supports greater agility, elasticity and predictability. With this comes new challenges – in contracts, compliance, and skills.

Cloud First 2022 Summit will bring together speakers, experts, and delegates to contextualise the transition to Cloud-based services, explore key trends, advancements, and use-cases, and discuss how to optimise the business impact of Cloud technology.

Speakers at Cloud First 2022 include:

  • Joydip Basu, Engineering Manager, Google
  • Cheryl Hung, Engineering Manager, Apple
  • Thomas Ozers, Programme Manager: Shared ARC, Digital Office, Scottish Local Government
  • Gillian Armstrong, Senior Solutions Architect: Applied AI, AWS
  • Geoff Ballinger, Head of Platform, Machines with Vision
  • Ben de Mora, Enterprise FinOps Director, FinOps Foundation

Commenting on the event, DIGIT Founder Ray Bugg said: “If data is the lifeblood of the digital revolution, then the Cloud is its heart. Freeing data from siloes enables many transformative technologies, from AI and automation to data analysis.

“However, the pandemic forced many organisations to adapt quickly, bringing a range of issues, such as around compliance and security.

“Now is the time for businesses to optimise their use of the Cloud. Our summit will explore how organisations can best utilise the technology to ensure long term success.”
