Tapping into the abundant talent in Scotland’s black community is key in the fight to close the skills gap.

Created through a partnership between DataKirk and Talentpointr, the Scottish Black Talent Summit is a one-day, in-person event, offering the opportunity to improve diversity and inclusion in your workplace, as well as creating pathways to employment.

The inaugural event will gather black talent, talent acquisition and HR professionals, diversity and inclusion experts, industry players, government and local authority representatives, as well as university communities to discuss the extent to which black talent, underrepresented communities – along with the development of innovative pathway to employment and solutions – can improve diversity, equity and inclusion at workplaces throughout Scotland.

Many DataKirk community members and black talents find themselves unemployed and underemployed while Scottish companies struggle to find and utilise talent. While there is no quick fix to closing the skills gap in this country, adressing these issues would go a long way to help.

The Scottish Black Talent Summit will connect black talent, recruiters, employers and policy makers, with the aim creating a more inclusive and diverse Scottish workforce.
