The Edinburgh-based point of sale (POS) startup, invested £100,000 internally to rebrand as it bolsters its expansion into new international markets.
After successfully expanding into India late last year, Grafterr now has its eyes on the United States, Australia, and Europe. Since its first expansion in 2022, Grafterr says they have seen increased month-to-month sales, along with expanding their team significantly in that time.
“The new look branding has been designed to fall in line with our huge global ambitions in which we’re confident we will continue to accelerate throughout 2023,” said Grafterr CEO Bhas Kalangi.
The rebranding from ePOS Hybrid to Grafterr marks an evolution for the company away from being seen as solely an POS platform. Since the launch of its original product in 2019, the startup has invested in increasing the functionality of its platform to include payments, digital ordering, and operations management along with POS.
With this recent investment, Grafterr also plans to release a new product which they say will allow them to diversify into multiple new industries.
Between 2019 and 2020 the POS industry experienced lower than anticipated demand according to a Business Insights report. However, the industry is expected to show a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of over 19% in the next five years, resulting in a projected £237 billion transaction value by 2027 according to a report.

“There has been a rapid pace of development since our launch as ePOS Hybrid in 2019. The rebrand will ensure that this pace doesn’t let up as we continue expansion,” said Andrew Gibbon, chief operating officer at Grafterr.
Since the launch of their product in 2019, over 13.5 million people have used the platform to make a purchase, resulting in over £175 in transactions being made.
