The co-authors of Pathways: A New Approach for Women in Entrepreneurship, Ana Stewart and Mark Logan, have been lined up for a panel event at strategic design firm Nile in Edinburgh on Tuesday 16 May.

The livestream event, “Pathways – Opportunities for Progress”, will also feature Leah Hutcheon, the CEO and founder of online and scheduling booking platform Appointedd, and Norin Arshed, Professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of Dundee.

The event is the second in an ongoing series following the publication of the Scottish Government commissioned Pathways review in February. The Pathways series is supported by Startup Grind Scotland, Product Forge, and the Freer Consultancy.

Seminal in its statistics, the review of the Scottish entrepreneurial ecosystem now dubbed the Stewart Report, sent cataclysmic waves throughout the Scottish business sphere.

No longer could people shy away the reality of women’s position in business – the stark statistics came as little surprise, but the frankness of the report is what made it such a phenom.

The report pulled no punches as it deemed the sexism in society as the greatest barrier to getting women into entrepreneurship.

Ana Stewart, chair and co-author of Pathways, who is also a partner at St Andrews-based impact investment firm Eos, said: “The Pathways series is about maintaining momentum following the publication of the review, and building a community to help us drive effective change in an area where Scotland has an opportunity to take a globally leading position.”

Former Skyscanner COO Mark Logan, Scotland’s Chief Entrepreneur, also authored the Scottish tech ecosystem review (STER) in 2020, and leads efforts to support and grow Scotland’s startup ecosystem.

Ana Stewart previously founded and exited AIM listed fintech business i-design, and is a Non-executive Director at the Scottish FA, Bella & Duke, and high growth tech firm Condatis.

Former BBC presenter and Freer Consultancy associate Vanessa Collingridge is hosting the Pathways – Opportunities for Progress event.
