Blackford, the strategic AI platform and solutions provider, has entered a commercial partnership with See-Mode, which offers deep learning and computational modelling assisted breast & thyroid detection  solutions to healthcare professionals.

The partnership will have See-Mode’s technology integrated in Blackford’s enterprise AI platform, which offers healthcare professionals access to a portfolio of over 115 AI solutions. 

See-Mode was founded in 2017 in Singapore, and is backed by a number of prominent venture capital firms in APAC (Asia Pacific region), including MassMutual Ventures, Blackbird Ventures, Cocoon Capital, and SGInnovate. Its most recent funding round was a Series A to the tune of about $9 million (£7m) led by Blackbird ventures.

There is a large geographical variance of thyroid disease across the UK, however the highest concentration of the condition is in the Western Isles of Scotland, with a 6.3% prevalence according to the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE).

See-Mode’s solutions automatically detect and classify lesions found in ultrasound images, significantly reducing reporting time and increasing diagnostic confidence for both ultrasound technologists and radiologists.
