After agreeing not to contest SNP leadership earlier this month, Forbes assumed the position of deputy first minister of Scotland and cabinet secretary for economy and Gaelic, further emphasising her dedication to Scotland’s prosperity and cultural heritage.

Forbes, 34, is the youngest ever deputy first minister after she agreed to give John Swinney a clear run for the SNP leadership, with the former cabinet secretary for finance given a mandate to try and improve Scottish government’s relationship with the country’s business ecosystem.
