The event will include speakers from Atlassian, Synergy Learning, the Scottish Government, Equator, Tempo, eazyBI and SoftwarePlant.

Atlassian enterprise software will be the focus of an event in Glasgow featuring an array of speakers, including solutions engineers, architects and operations heads.

The inaugural Atlassian in Scotland conference will be hosted at the Glasgow’s TIC on the 19th of March in association with Atlassian’s local channel partner, New Verve.

The event aims to bring together technical communities and practitioners to provide a forum for attendees to network, learn from each other and forge new relationships.

The overarching theme of this one-day event is project and portfolio management, and the need for organisations to see the ‘bigger’ picture.

A New Verve spokesperson said: “As a business scales, the challenges grow more complex. A growing business might have a clear strategy but could easily struggle with its execution. This usually happens when teams aren’t aligned to a shared strategic purpose across the organisation.

“Coordinating multiple teams and individual specialists so that they all align to the same overall objective is both a tough job and a science. But it’s also an essential job, one that will establish operational efficiencies and ultimately save costs. This event will showcase how Atlassian’s flagship products can help your business rise to these challenges.”

Atlassian was founded in 2002 with a mission to unleash the potential in every team. Atlassian’s team collaboration software – including Jira Software, Portfolio for Jira, Confluence, and HipChat – aims to remove the friction inherent in teamwork, making it easier for teams to organise, discuss and complete work.

Today, Atlassian’s products serve teams of all shapes and sizes, in virtually every industry – from IT and service teams to software teams; from sales and marketing teams to HR, finance, and legal teams.

A wide variety of products and solutions will be demonstrated during the event, and delegates will get the opportunity to speak with specialist vendors in the expo area. New Verve is expecting the event to welcome 125 attendees representing a wide variety of businesses across both private and public sectors across Scotland.

Based in Glasgow, New Verve Consulting is a software services company that helps Scottish and UK-based SMEs to roll out and tailor Atlassian software tools to optimise project and service delivery.

The New Verve spokesperson said: “Our goal is simple: to help software and business teams deliver and support successful products by applying agile techniques and maximising team collaboration.”

Simon Burland, partner director at Atlassian, said: “As the very first event of its kind in Scotland, this is a great opportunity for local businesses to network directly with Atlassian staff, product vendors and other product users. Products such as Jira and Confluence form an essential part of the teamwork formula, and an increasing number of Scottish businesses are reaping the benefits of Atlassian tools to optimise project delivery. We’re excited that New Verve is establishing an annual flagship event for the region.”

Speakers will include:

Peter Koczan, solutions engineer at Atlassian; Peter Hinds, head of operations at Synergy Learning; Graham Beattie, head of transition at the Agriculture Directorate of the Scottish Government; Philippa Christie, production manager at Equator; Eygló Óskarsdóttir and Thorunn Oskarsdottir, solutions architects at Tempo; Janis Plume, BI consultant at eazyBI; Jerzy Sekula, business analyst at SoftwarePlant.
