Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced a new opportunity for charities and third-sector organisations in the UK to apply for a grant for cloud-based technology projects.
The IMAGINE Grant is available to any UK-based charity for a project that would benefit them and other charities in their field.
Non-profits are encourages to prioritise technology as a key component of their projects to better provide support to their users, typically people who are most at need.
The UK grant award category is titled “The Go Further, Faster Award,” and the winner will receive benefits including: a project kick off workshop and implementation support from technical specialists from AWS, as well as an opportunity for an AWS marketing promotion.
These benefits are in addition to the £40,894 cash funding and up to £13,086 in AWS promotional credits.
AWS is on the look out for projects which have the potential to be scaled across industries or fields in the third sector, all leveraging the cloud.
Projects should especially seek to include or integrate with more advanced cloud services such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), Internet of Things (IoT), high performance computing (HPC), and more.

Round one of applications are open from 1 May to 1 June, 2023.
AWS will be judging projects based on several key areas including: innovation and uniqueness, mission-critical goals and impact, clarity of defined outcomes and milestones, applicability of AWS services, viability and sustainability, and the comprehensiveness of the proposal.
While AWS services are not required to be used in the project, proposals will be judged on their applicability of AWS services within their scope.
