Scottish craft beer company, BrewDog, has announced the launch of its own video-on-demand service, The BrewDog Network.
The streaming service, which is priced at $4.99 per month, will be available on a number of platforms, including Android iOS and web browsers.
The BrewDog Network
The streaming service will include up to 14 original series, including comedy game show “Are You Smarter Than A Drunk Person” hosted by Parks and Recreation’s Alison Becker, and drink culture programme “Four Sheets”. To lead the development of the service, the craft brewer has hired Christopher Burke, co-founder of production company Redtail Media.
In a post on the BrewDog website, the firm said: “The BrewDog Network is a new video-on-demand service for the 21st Century. We have over 100 hours of fresh content ready to stream right now, with more coming online all the time.”
Fans of Star Trek and Brewdog will also be able to watch William Shatner interview celebrities over a bottle of wine in “Brown Bag Wine Tasting”, while James Watt and fellow co-founder Martin Dickie will host their own travel series, “The BrewDog Show”.

Speaking on the launch of the service, Watt and Dickie said: “After our previous TV show ‘Brew Dogs’ got cancelled, we didn’t want to sit around in our underpants, crying into a tub of ice cream; So we decided the only thing to do, would be to build our own TV network.”
The New King of Content
As part of a promotional campaign ahead of launch, the brewer launched a parody adult website that bears a striking resemblance to Pornhub. Beer.Porn includes trailers for some of the content that will be featured on the new streaming service.
“The BrewDog Network is the new king of content,” said Watt. “Craft beer is our passion – it’s always been what turns us on. And with the launch of the new network, we no longer have to keep it as our dirty little secret.”
Challenging Big Hitters
Founded in 2007, the Aberdeenshire-based company has grown to become one of the most popular craft beer producers in the world. In 2017 the firm opened its first US-based brewery in Columbus, Ohio in a move that strengthened its grip across the Atlantic.
Already a household name in the craft beer industry, BrewDog said it hopes to make its mark on the VoD sector. In an online statement, Watt said: “Just as Netflix has pioneered mainstream streaming services, The BrewDog Network will be the first globally-recognised, passion-focused platform. We believe craft beer can be the inspiration for the most popular content on the internet.”
BrewDog isn’t alone in creating its own production company, however. In 2007, Red Bull founded Red Bull Media House.
The award-winning production company is available globally, offering sports, culture and lifestyle content. It also offers a broad range of premium media products across television, mobile, digital, audio and print.
