“Together, we will be able to offer enhanced solutions to our customers and create new opportunities for our employees,” CB Technology managing director John Cameron said.

Livingston-based CB Technology, the electronic contract manufacturer, has been acquired by Northern Irish company Elite Electronic Systems.

With the rival companies having a combined turnover of £50m, the deal creates one of the largest electronic manufacturing firms in the UK.

With the acquisition, Elite Electronic Systems hopes to strengthen their reputation by integrating CB Technology’s 25 years of industry expertise, particularly in sectors such as energy and power monitoring.

The combined entity is set to benefit from shared market intelligence, expanded resources, and increased manufacturing capabilities, positioning Elite as a powerhouse in the EMS market with a revenue exceeding £50m.

The acquisition has created an exit for Maven Capital Partners, the private equity firm, with a return on investment of 2.85 times for the investors.

CB Technology, founded in 1999, manufactures electronics intended to operate in some of the harshest environments, from the most extreme temperatures to perilous pressure and vibrations.

“This acquisition is a pivotal step for Elite as we continue to grow and innovate in the EMS industry,” Jonathan Balfour, CEO of Elite Electronic Systems, commented.

“The addition of CB Technology’s specialised expertise and strong market presence will allow us to deliver even greater value to our customers. We are excited to welcome the CB team to the Elite family and look forward to achieving new heights together.”

Elite is set to work closely with CB Technology’s leadership and broader team to ensure a seamless integration process that preserves the strengths and culture of both organisations.

With the backing of Lonsdale Capital Partners, this acquisition marks the first step in what Elite hopes to be a buy-and-build journey aimed at driving growth through partnerships and deals.
