Code Clan, the UK’s only fully accredited digital skills academy, is hosting a series of free events to encourage adults to try writing code as part of National Coding Week.

There is a huge – and growing – demand for digital skills across the whole country. It is predicted that nearly 13,000 job opportunities will be created over the next 12 months in Scotland’s digital technology sector. 

The week runs from 18th until 24th September, with CodeClan offering free hour-long lunchtime sessions for members of the public at their Edinburgh and Glasgow campuses.

Edinburgh

Glasgow

• Friday 22nd (12:30)

In addition to the drop-in sessions, CodeClan has produced a free downloadable e-book, Why Learn To Code, a comprehensive guide to the challenges and opportunities of coding.

National Coding Week

We have successfully placed more than 150 graduates in a tech role which is a fantastic achievement in under two years since the beginning of CodeClan.”

CodeClan offers students the chance to retrain and change careers into a digital technology role by completing their immersive 16-week Professional Software Development course. Over 95% of CodeClan graduates are offered employment within six months of finishing the course with many receiving a job offer sooner.

CodeClan is also supporting two additional free events hosted by Codebar and Women Who Code during National Coding Week.

Women Who Code is offering an Introduction to Ruby programming language workshop at CodeClan on Tuesday 19th September at 6:30 pm

Codebar is running a coding workshop on Saturday 23rd September.
