Databricks UK expansion
Data and AI company Databricks has announced plans to expand their UK presence with a £644 million investment.

The investment will allow Databricks to 4x their footprint with a new 137,000 sq ft London HQ.

As well as office expansion, the investment will increase job opportunities in the UK. Databricks currently has a team of 500 UK and Ireland employees but this is expected to grow to over 1,000 in the next few years.

The growth is expected to support Databricks’ ambitions to train 100,000 individuals across the UK and Ireland in data and AI skills in the next three years.

Michael Green, UK and Ireland managing director at Databricks commented: “The UK is a hub for AI innovation, and we are proud to make such a strong commitment to the market.

“When we opened our first dedicated UK office and EMEA hub in 2024, we had a clear aim: to be at the heart of the UK’s data and AI community, providing a space for our team and partners to come together to collaborate on the future of data and AI. This new office and investments accelerate that ambition even further.”

It is hoped that this development further supports the UKs position to sustain its position as a global AI leader.
