Datakirk has announced that its second annual Scottish Ethnic Minority Talent Summit, Festival, and Awards will take place on 6 to 10 October with events across Scotland. 

The event will offer a five-day celebration of inclusion, innovation and cultural vibrancy featuring a range of diverse voices, ideas, and leadership. 

Albert King, chief data officer at NHS Scotland has been announced as the chair of SEMTSF 2025, who will lead the summit and festival with the theme of Wellbeing and Resilience – Thriving in a Changing World. Datakirk hopes that his transformative impact will make this event the most powerful yet. 

SEMTSF 2025 aims to bring together industry leaders, policymakers, creatives, educators, and communities to explore what it takes to thrive with resilience and purpose. 

Previous events lead by Datakirk provided a platform for a range of leaders, workers, and students to come together and discuss wide-reaching ideas and issues surrounding job security, diversity, immigration, education, and creating opportunities for Scotland’s ethnic minority population. 

The festival promises insightful conversations as well as electrifying cultural showcases, providing an opportunity to connect, contribute, and add to Scotland’s legacy. 

What does the week have in store?

Fringe events across Scotland will take place from the 6th to the 8th of October, including thought-provoking workshops, career-focused meetups, youth innovation hubs, and community-led sessions hosted by Datakirk’s partners. 

On the 9th of October, Datakirk’s Summit will take place in the heart of Edinburgh, featuring keynote addresses and engaging panels.

The Talent Awards will follow the summit, celebrating the individual and organisations redefining Scotland’s future of work and inclusion. 

On the 10th of October, the festival will offer a high-energy, family-friendly celebration with music, cultural performances, creative talent showcases, food, interactive STEM zones, and activities that highlight the rich diversity of Scotland’s communities.
