The advanced AI-chat bot is driving intrigue across the globe, with China showing the most sustained interest.

Demand for AI language tool ChatGPT has reached new heights on the global stage as it’s ability to generate human-like responses and natural language continues to drive interest in the tech world.

In November 2022, OpenAI announced its ChatGPT AI bot which can create natural responses to complex questions in a human-like conversational manner.

The advancement in AI technology has sparked interest from many different industries.

So much interest, in fact, that it scored a Google search popularity score of 100 in the week ending January 11, which is the highest number possible, according to Finbold.

China had the most interest, based on this data, with a peak score of 100.

This is despite ChatGPT being officially available in the country, and media giant Tencent, which owns WeChat, removing ChatGPT-related programs from the platform.

China was followed by Nepal at 35, while Norway is third with a score of 28. With a score of 27, Singapore is in the fourth spot, while Israel is in the fifth position at 26.

Other countries leading in ChatGPT demand include Lebanon (24), Canada (23), Palestine (22), Morocco (21), and Kenya (21). Markedly, from the research findings, the UK has failed to feature among countries recording increased demand for ChatGPT.

ChatGPT has set itself apart from other chatbots for providing such humanist responses, but also elevated itself over the rest by writing code and generating content.

The AI-tech may not just be a chatbot, but could potentially transform the structure of search engines altogether, providing answers amassed from different sources rather than directing users to various websites.

Still, the new frontier in AI has faced concerns about potential plagiarism and the functionality of the platform, as the chatbot, despite its advancements, has been known to occasionally produce incorrect or not entirely correct information in a confident manner.

Still, the OpenAI team is moving toward monetisation of the AI tech for businesses, and it will reportedly be added to search engine Bing.

ChatGPT is likely just the beginning in complex AI chatbots, Finbold’s report supposes. Google’s strong AI team will likely have something in development soon to compete, so they technology may soon become a standard search engine feature.
