Edinburgh-based software company Sharktower has announced the appointment of ex-FanDuel executive Brendan Waters as its new chief financial officer (CFO).
He will join Sharktower’s team teaching businesses to use artificial intelligence to help them work more efficiently, collate data and streamlines their processes.
Waters previously worked for several technology firms as a corporate finance advisor before joining Edinburgh-based gaming start-up and future ‘unicorn’ FanDuel as its first CFO in 2012.
He spent four years as CFO at Glasgow–based digital media agency Dog Digital and has most recently held a similar position at Wilson Imports.
Commenting on his new appointment, Waters said: “Sharktower is one of the most exciting early-stage businesses to emerge in Scotland in recent years.
“The team has developed cutting edge AI techniques and powerful, data-led project management solutions to solve real business issues for large enterprises by reducing project waste and improving team communication, which is particularly important during these times.
“I am excited by the opportunity to be part of the leadership team at such an exciting time for the business, as we prepare for the next round of growth investment.”

His appointment at Sharktower follows on from Nikki Horwood taking up the position of marketing manager last month.
Horwood has 20 years’ experience in B2B tech marketing, having previously led marketing at high-profile technology companies including CA Technologies, Informatica, Trend Micro and Cisco.
Horwood commented: “I’m thrilled to be joining Sharktower at this time. AI is set to revolutionise project management and to be part of a company that is driving that change is an incredible opportunity.
“These are obviously challenging times to be starting a new role, but we have an incredible team of innovative, fearless people and we are getting to know each other very well, digitally.”
