The free week-long programme of events, which is open to all businesses, the general public, university staff, students and alumni, will bring together a diverse range of keynote speakers, start-up businesses and industry experts to promote entrepreneurship across the city.
The programme will feature events on social enterprise, women in business, investment and start-up support workshops. It will provide opportunities for businesses, investors and academics to network and engage. Attendees will also have the opportunity to get tips from business angels on being investor ready, advice on how to prepare and apply to Scottish Edge 2018, and knowledge about how to start and run a social enterprise.
Venture 2018 New Business Competition
Entrepreneurship week will culminate in a final event, the Venture 2018 new business competition. This will include workshops from V&A Dundee, Elevator, Coca-Cola, 5by20 and Entrepreneurial Scotland. In addition, the University of Dundee students, recent graduates and staff will be live-pitching for a share of the £26k prize fund.
At this final event, there will be high-profile entrepreneurial speakers including Dr Debbie Wake of MyWay Digital Health and David Tonery of Oxy-Gen Combustion. Attendees will also have the chance to speak with a wide range of expert business support organisations.
