“I’m keen to ensure we’re continually innovating, and our infrastructure is robust and capable of flexing for future growth,” said Kimberley Totten, Akari COO.

Akari Solutions has announced two key appointments to help the company continue to scale.

Scottish serial entrepreneurs, Keith Inch and Rod Stuart, are to join the young company as chairman and director of strategy respectively. Since its creation in April 2019, Akari Solutions has experienced rapid growth and expanded its staff headcount by 530%.

Akari Solutions quickly became a Microsoft Gold Platform and Gold Productivity partner, and established an upskilling programme for Scottish youths in partnership with QA Scotland.

Now with the two key appointments and its assimilation of tech firm Cloudtrace, a Scottish SMB with expertise in artificial intelligence, the company is looking to continue its upward trajectory and hopes to take on an additional 20 employees by the end of the year.

With the company in the process of testing another accessibility solution and onboarding several key clients, Akari Solutions told DIGIT it felt now is the right time to take on Inch and Stuart to ensure that its accelerated expansion does not impact the company’s long-term goals.

Kimberley Totten, co-founder of Akari and COO, said: “As we grow, we don’t want to lose sight of the core values that have shaped the company culture. I’m keen to ensure we are continually innovating, and our infrastructure is robust and capable of flexing for future growth.”

Inch said of his appointment: “Having worked with the founding team in a previous business and knowing how well they understand the IT landscape, I was excited and honoured to be asked onboard as their chairman.

“Their experience in cutting edge technical deployment, coupled with a strong change management practice, makes them unique in the market. As a pure play Microsoft partner and a company with an ethos that truly puts accessibility and innovation at the core of everything they do, they really are a small powerhouse and one to watch over the next few years.

“As their new chairman I will help them drive forward. As a serial entrepreneur, with years of experience in the technology industry, I have a unique understanding of the pitfalls small businesses can face as they grow, and I’ll be helping guide and mentor them to ensure that they can focus on the day to day growth and running of the business.

“With a focus on helping them grow and develop their own unique IP built around the core Microsoft product stack, I’ll be working with our new director of strategy, Rod Stuart, to take a bird’s eye view of the business and help them become a leading technology partner in the UK.”

Stuart said: “I’m excited to come on board as director of strategy for Akari to support and develop short, medium and long-term plans in a highly competitive sector. I’ll be collaborating with other stakeholders to deliver success in line with the company vision and energy, as well as overseeing commercial targets and operations.”
