Thousands of network outages have been reported to DownDetector from multiple mobile networks in the UK.

EE, Three, Vodafone, and BT all saw reports of network outages spike today, with users reporting a range of issues from the inability to make calls to internet outages and a lack of signal.

Vodafone and Three told the BBC that they did not suffer from network outages, despite the reports on DownDector showing a spike of outage reports at around 2pm today for both companies.

However, a spokesperon for Vodafone did say the network was experiencing difficulties, and that “due to some technical issues some customers will be experiencing issues making or receiving calls.”

BT, which owns EE, did confirm that it was “currently addressing an issue impacting our services,” apologising to users.

“We’re working urgently to fix this issue and will provide a further update as soon as possible,” a spokesperson said.

The reports of other outages across networks may be due to users’ inability to connect to EE or BT phone numbers.

While some O2 users have reported issues, a company spokesperson said that the network was operating as normal.

Outages for EE were reported across the UK, with figures from DownDetector indicating the London, Birmingham, Manchester, and Glasgow were worst hit, though this may just be population bias.
