Milton Keynes University Hospital (MKUH) is set to receive a neurocritical AI solution called qER which will help identify life threatening abnormalities in computer tomography (CT) scans.
The solution itself was developed in partnership between Blackford and Qure.ai, a New York-headquartered medtech company renowned for its AI and radiology solutions. The two companies have an ongoing partnership which leverages AI to enhance clinical decision making.
The implementation of qER at MKUH is part of the hospital’s broader AI strategy, facilitated by the Blackford Platform (add link), which streamlines the evaluation, adoption, monitoring, and support of AI solutions.

Qure.ai’s new tool, qER, is one of the first AI solutions to be evaluated and deployed by Blackform Platform at MKUH. It automates the process for detecting abnormalities which helps clinicians save time to focus on better patient care.

The current process of reviewing CT scan results is time consuming and complicated, as the radiologist may take 30 to 40 minutes to go through each quadrant of the radiological anatomy. While the rate of miss vary, different radiologists may arrive on different conclusions in up to 37% of cases according to a report.
