The Scottish Council for Development and Industry (SCDI) has announced an ambitious new partnership with Pawprint which aims to tackle climate change.
The partnership between the non-profit and the ecotech startup will see SCDI employees able to measure, understand and reduce their carbon footprint through the Pawprint app.
According to the SCDI, the partnership will build on its mission of building sustainable, inclusive economic growth for Scotland. The organisation is an independent network which represents the private, public and third sectors.
Edinburgh-based Pawprint is a behavioural change platform which combines the latest in carbon data and technology to help people to make small changes in their daily routines.
Pawprint For Business, designed specifically for employee populations, was launched earlier this year and has secured a number of high-profile companies thus far, including BrewDog and Standard Life Aberdeen.
Alongside access to the Pawprint app, organisations benefit from tailored Sprints and reports highlighting their carbon saving.
These reports enable businesses and organisations to embed sustainable values into their plans and support employees’ personal efforts.
Christian Arno, Founder and CEO at Pawprint believes the partnership further reflects a “huge appetite” for organisations to reduce their environmental impact.
He said: “Climate change affects us all and it’s inspiring to have an organisation such as the SCDI leading by example with their employees living the values the organisation embodies and using Pawprint themselves, as they seek to build a more sustainable economic future for Scotland.”

SCDI chief executive Sara Thiam and Christian Arno came together as part of the Pawprint Summer Sprint Tour to talk about all things Climate Tech.
The non-profit said it put the voices and views of business at the heart of their research, with Pawprint featuring as a case study in the recent SCDI report ‘Innovation Nation – Scotland’s Net Zero Mission and Climate Tech Opportunity’.
Commenting on the partnership, Sara Thiam said: “Organisations want to do the right thing when it comes to climate change but many of us struggle with where to start. Pawprint offers us a unique opportunity to walk the walk by giving us the data we need to inform our decisions.
“I’m delighted to take part in this home-grown initiative which has huge potential for adoption around the world.”
