BR-DGE is a merchant centric payment technology startup, has brought together more than 300 payment providers and technology solutions startups through its partnership program. 

Under its partnership with Hands In, BR-DGE merchants gain access to a cost-splitting solution which could address the high failed payment rates in the travel, leisure, and hospitality sectors.

According to data from the Office for National statistics, failed transactions were projected to lose airlines £5.45 billion from UK consumer sales. 

“As merchants in the travel, hospitality, and leisure sectors look ahead to a busy Summer trading period, they are keen to fill any gaps in their payment infrastructure,” said Tom Voaden, head of partnerships at BR-DGE.

Hands In enters this partnership after a $550,000 (£434,866) seed funding round raised in May of this year with the intention of expanding the sectors for its product. The seed round had attracted investment from former and current executives in key payment corporations like GoCardless, Thredd, Elavon, FIS, Pay.com, PayU, Curve, and Free Trade, bringing its total funding to date to roughly £553,434.

BR-DGE’s most recent funding was also its seed round, where it raised £2.5 million led by Edinburgh-based Golag Investment Group in 2020.

Since then BR-DGE has gone from start-up to scale-up by growth through acquisitions and partnerships, increasing their year-on-year partnership rate threefold in 2022. BR-DGE’s most recent partnership in March was with Open Banking fraud protection startup Volt.
