A new training programme has been launched to teach digital skills to professionals in Scotland’s creative industries.
The Next LevelUp! project from Ironworks Venue will cover topics including blockchain, cryptocurrency, NFT and the meta sphere. The areas will be covered by global specialists from leading universities, consultancies and technology businesses.
Delivered over four weeks, the digital skills course is open to the full spectrum of the Scottish Government’s definition of creative industries.
This ranges across all sectors, including visual and performing arts, cultural education, crafts, textiles, fashion, photography, music, writing and publishing, advertising, libraries, archives, antiques, architecture, design, film and video, TV and radio, software and electronic publishing, and computer games.
The programme is open to individual practitioners, freelancers and representatives from SMEs, larger companies, community groups and organisations. Open to applicants based across Scotland, The Next LevelUp! will enable participants to shift their thinking and explore how digital and agile approaches can transform their creative business and ensure they are ‘future fit’.
Alex Smith, Project Management Executive for LevelUp and Ironworks, said: “By exposure to exemplars- and being challenged by those at the vanguard of the digital model- not only will attendees make their operations more sleek, efficient and flexible, they will also develop the thought processes, mental models and skillsets relevant to the next level of digital opportunity.”
Coming after the successful delivery of the first LevelUp! programme earlier this year, The Next LevelUp! is supported by the Creative Digital Initiative (CDI).
The CDI programme has been developed through a partnership of Scotland’s enterprise agencies (Highlands & Islands Enterprise, Scottish Enterprise, South of Scotland Enterprise, Business Gateway), Skills Development Scotland, Creative Scotland and the Scottish Government.
