Scottish Edge, the UK’s largest business funding competition is now accepting applications for its ‘Lucky’ round 13. Entrepreneurs wanting to get involved need to submit a completed online application form and a short video pitch, which can be made via EDGE’s online portal until 5th September 2018 at 2 pm.
Over its past 12 rounds, Scottish EDGE has awarded over £11 million to Startup businesses throughout Scotland and has had a huge impact on Scotland’s economy. Past winners have collectively generated additional investment of £82.47m, £104.22m in turnover and created 2214 jobs.
All applications submitted in Round 12 will be assessed by a number of independent, expert panels before being shortlisted to participate in a Scottish EDGE semi-final or the final of the competition’s subsidiary categories, namely Young EDGE or Wild Card EDGE.
Round 12 Finals to Take Place in December
Prizes of up to £100,000 will be awarded at a full day pitching at the final in December. The lucky winners will be announced at the evening Awards Ceremony. Additionally, one deserving business within the STEM sector will receive up to £150,000 via the Higgs EDGE Special Award.
The return of the Creative EDGE award, which is supported by Creative Scotland, will see one business within the creative sector awarded up to £100,000, and the newly introduced Social Enterprise EDGE Award, supported by the Postcode Innovation Trust, will result in a Social Enterprise business receiving a further prize of up to £100,000.
