SQLGLA Data Conference 2018: Community Drives Us
The Glasgow SQL group has announced it’s 2018 data platform conference. SQLGLA Director Craig Porteous outlines what the event will offer.
On Friday, 14th September, SQLGLA returns to Glasgow as Scotland’s only data platform conference. The event’s programme of expert speakers encompasses many disciplines ranging from database performance through cloud adoption to data science and everything in-between.
With cloud computing now firmly in the mainstream, the skills and knowledge to work with the Azure Platform are in high-demand. Companies across all industries are focussing on how they can utilise their data to drive their business forward, be it through Data Science, Business Intelligence or Business Analytics.
Training Sessions
Teams are embracing DevOps practises, improving efficiencies with automation and contributing to open source projects, as Microsoft has themselves of late. With the schedule announced in mid-May SQLGLA 2018 will host training sessions across all of these growth areas and the foundations of database technologies alike.
SQLGLA provides a platform for attendees to get free training at any level, learn about new technologies or advanced techniques and network with peers and exhibitors. As a community driven event, it also provides the opportunity for new and local speakers to talk about the things they are passionate about and help them give back to the community that drives us all forward.
Full Day’s Schedule
This year’s event builds upon the success of 2017’s four session afternoon with a full day of training filled by 24 hour-long sessions across four rooms, presented by speakers from across the globe and near to home.
