Starlink Satellite Internet Activated in Ukraine
Entrepreneur and CEO Elon Musk made the announcement as Ukraine suffers widespread outages due to Russia’s invasion.
Following a plea from Ukraine’s vice prime minister, Starlink has activated its satellite internet service in the country.
Mykhailo Fedorov, who is also Ukraine’s minister of digital transformation, pleaded with the SpaceX founder following sustained attacks on Ukraine, which have caused national outages.
The billionaire took to Twitter to announce the activation of the Starlink internet, writing: “Starlink service is now active in Ukraine.” He added: “More terminals en route.”

Starlink internet would go a long way to help Ukrainian stay abreast with information as well as communicate with people around the world. NetBlocks, an organisation that monitors cybersecurity and the governance of the internet has revealed that since Russia launched its attack Ukraine has suffered a “series of significant disruptions to internet service”.
