Glasgow-based Talking Medicines has appointed industry sales and marketing veteran Mike Strassberg as Chief Customer Officer.

As the Scottish company’s first US-based appointment, Mike is set to drive the data tech company’s continued growth in the US.

Talking Medicines is the company behind an AI-driven patient intelligence company designed to meet the needs of pharma-marketers.

Strassberg joins Talking Medicines having led sales and marketing at Eversana Intouch B2D for the last three years. With 30 years of experience in the health and life sciences industry Strassberg is ready to drive growth, build new relationships and help Talking Medicines establish its AI platform PatientMetRx.

Based in New York, Mike will focus on new customer acquisition and will work closely with current customers to help them maximise the value of their platform subscriptions.

Strassberg will draw from multiple leadership roles at top medical communication agencies management consultancies and pharma product marketing.

Talking Medicines opened its New Jersey office earlier this year and has already secured contracts with several US-based medical advertising agencies.

Strassberg said: “Building a patient-centric commercial organisation has become a necessity for life sciences companies, and by extension their marketing agencies, but until now there has been limited insight into actual patient experiences.

“The PatientMetRx cloud-based software, powered by Talking Medicines’ AI enabled platform, provides a unique view of the patient voice, which can illuminate the patient perspective, delivering better health outcomes.

Several major marketing agencies have already subscribed to PatientMetRx and I’m looking forward to driving further growth and building a US operation.”

This year saw Talking Medicines bring in £1.5m in its latest funding round, which saw Boston-based life science investor Mark Bamforth of Thairm Bio join the company’s current funders. He joined IoT specialist investment company Tern Plc, impact investor SIS Ventures, and Scottish Enterprise.

The company previously received £1.1 million of investment back in 2020, which it used to help scale up its AI-based data technology platform.
