Glasgow-based tech recruitment firm MBN is on track for a record year after seeing a significant increase in activity in Scotland and across the UK. Working across multiple industry sectors, and alongside companies ranging from startups to SMEs and larger corporations, approximately 40% of MBN’s revenues are now derived from activity outside of Scotland.
Founded in 2010, the consultancy builds expertise in data science, big data, analytics, and technology. Earlier this year they placed 50 The Data Lab-sponsored MSc data science students from Universities around Scotland at organisations including; the NHS, the Scottish Government, Morgan Stanley, HSBC, and STV.
Michael Young, CEO of MBN, said: “We are seeing a big shift in the market in terms of employer requirements with trends like the adoption of in-house data capabilities, demand for skills in scaleable, open source technologies and the overall complexity of data-driven roles to the fore. We have carefully built a team with deep industry understanding and it’s great to see the successful business outcomes coming through, not only for MBN but for our client base as a whole.”
Robin Huggins, Head of Business Development at MBN, said: “Data science challenges and opportunities increasingly determine the commercial success of every organisation and our sweet spot is around an ability to identify the talent that best fits our clients and takes their data capabilities to the next level. As we say, to build a modern business and its associated workforce in a connected economy, time and resource must be applied to how the jigsaw is pieced together.”
