Pawprint has signed up Tesco Bank to its carbon monitoring platform, helping the bank’s 4,000 colleagues reduce their carbon footprint.

The Scottish eco-tech company’s Pawprint for Business platform helps businesses unite, engage and support their colleagues in tackling climate change.

Pawprint’s services help people monitor their carbon footprints and provide advice on how to reduce them. It also encourages participation through eco-Sprints and teams and leaderboards.

Businesses meanwhile gain unique insights into their Scope 3 emissions, including commuting, business travel and home working.

Commenting on the sign-up, Christian Arno, founder and Pawprint CEO, said: “We are seeing real momentum in the drive to tackle climate change and having businesses such as Tesco Bank taking a proactive approach in supporting their employees’ efforts can be game changing. Pawprint for Business was designed to drive change and to drive it fast by uniting employees in their efforts.”

The deal was announced during the week of COP26 in Glasgow, and will see Tesco Bank become the first bank to introduce Pawprint’s business service.

In addition to Pawprint for Business, Tesco Bank currently uses 100% renewable electricity across its three sites in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Newcastle to help reduce its carbon footprint, and has aligned its target with Tesco to be net zero from its own operations by 2035.

Tesco Bank joins many notable businesses in other sectors all using Pawprint for Business to make a difference. Over 25 businesses, including investment company abrdn, the Net Zero Technology Centre, and leading law firm Burness Paull are also using Pawprint for Business.
