BBC Scotland journalist and broadcaster Mark Stephen will chair the conference, while David Locke, Chief Technology Advisor at World Wide Technology, is also scheduled to contribute to the programme.

Across the day, the agenda will examine how agentic AI is beginning to transform financial services, alongside the maturation of digital assets and cryptocurrency, opportunities for Scotland’s fintech start-ups and the growing challenge of ensuring AI governance keeps pace with adoption.

The afternoon programme will turn to the evolution of machine learning in combating money laundering, programmable finance and the shift towards agentic commerce, exploring how emerging technologies are changing payments, customer experiences, risk and the wider financial services landscape.

Fintech Summit 2026 takes place at the EICC in Edinburgh on Wednesday, 7th October. Attendance is free for eligible delegates working within financial services and fintech.
