UK Semiconductor Sector Reaches £237M in 2026 So Far

The sector has already surpassed the total funding in 2025. 

The UK semiconductor sector raised $321m (£237m) so far in 2026, far surpassing the $261m (£193.8m) raised throughout all of 2025.

Data from Tracxn Technologies shows that the 2026 funding comes from 14 different rounds, while the 2025 investment comes from the 18 rounds across the full year.

In 2026 so far, seed funding amounted to $37.2m (£27.5m), and early stage investment amassed to $284m (£210m).

Late stage funding has yet to be tracked for the same period, but rose to $77m (£52m) in 2025.

Bristol maintained its position as the most-funded semiconductor hub in the UK, accounting for a quarter of semiconductor funding despite only have 43 out of the 1,986 tracked companies.

In 2026 so far, the UK semiconductor sector saw six acquisitions, down from the 10 seen in 2025 and the 18 seen in 2023.

No semiconductor firms went public in 2026, compared to one IPO in 2024 and one in 2025.
