Vodafone outage UK
Vodafone is battling downed services that has left thousands of UK customers without broadband, mobile data and phone service.

Vodafone is facing a major nationwide outage affecting broadband, mobile data and phone services across the UK. Reports began to surge shortly after 3pm on Monday afternoon, with outage tracking site Downdetector registering more than 135,000 complaints by mid-afternoon.

The telecoms giant has confirmed it is experiencing “issues with our digital services” and says teams are working to restore connectivity as quickly as possible. Vodafone’s network status checker and maintenance pages were intermittently inaccessible as traffic spiked from users attempting to confirm service disruptions.

The majority of complaints seem to relate to home broadband, which accounts for over two-thirds of reported issues, according to Downdetector. Many customers have also reported being unable to use mobile data or make calls, with Glasgow, London, Birmingham, Manchester and Cardiff seemingly among the worst affected areas.

Also, at time of writing, the Vodafone website is down.

In a short statement, Vodafone said: “We’re aware some customers are currently experiencing problems accessing our broadband and mobile services. Our engineers are investigating the issue as a priority and we’re working hard to fix it.” No official timeline for resolution has yet been given.

If you’re on a home broadband contracts, be sure to document any downtime, as Ofcom regulations entitle customers to compensation if loss of service continues for an extended period.
