Yatter: social media connectivity

Collaborative social media scheduling platform Yatter has just embarked on its first round of fundraising via crowdfunding platform Seedrs.

Aiming to raise £60k in funding, Yatter hopes to significantly widen its investor base and take the company to the next stage of development.

The Yatter platform, which is already functional, has been bootstrapped to date. The team are now hoping this new investment will help them to increase their marketing, engage more community support staff and to strengthen their platform.

What is Yatter?

Based in Glasgow, Yatter is a community-driven social media scheduling platform. Its unique online collaborative facility not only allows the scheduling of content to Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn, but also enables organisations using it to partner with one another and preview social media posts that will happen in the future.

Unlike other offerings in this sector, Yatter is more than just a tool.Users can discuss content, share media and links between partners using its chat feature. Its staging zone means collaborators can preview, work together and tune content before it is deployed to the internet.

Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook have authorised Yatter for API access and both Facebook and Apple have assessed and passed the platform for use.

richard-normanRichard Norman, Yatter’s Managing Director said, “Yatter allows users to schedule Likes, Retweets and Comments on each other’s content and sets the standard for social collaboration, ideal for those managing communities, events or memberships.”

Who would use it?

Yatter will be most useful to social media content managers who can use it to collaborate with partners to ensure that scheduling and social media calendars work in a more cohesive manner.

User and Digital Content and Programme Executive at Young Enterprise Scotland (YES), Lucy McOuat said of the platform, “Scheduling our posts through Yatter is deceptively easy and it puts my mind at ease to know that I can plan my content in collaboration with others.”

A number of prominent charities including MCR Pathways, YES and the Antarctic Wildlife Fund are already using the platform, which is completely free for charities, communities and social enterprises.
