Siobhan Boylan is expected to take up her new role in the summer.

Abrdn, the Scottish financial investment company, has appointed Siobhan Boylan as its new chief financial officer (CFO) and as an executive director of the company.

Following regulatory approval, Boylan is anticipated to start her new position in the summer.

With 30 years of experience from across the financial services sector, Boylan is primed to bring her expertise from her current position as chief financial officer at Coutts & Co, NatWest’s private banking arm. She also currently serves as an independent non-executive at Jupiter Fund Management.

Prior to Coutts & Co, Boylan was finance chief of Brewin Dolphin, and before this she served in the same role at Legal & General Investment Management. At Aviva, Boylan held various senior finance roles.

“This is an exciting time to join the business, and I am looking forward to working with talented colleagues, to continue to strengthen the business and set it up for future success,” Boylan said.

Jason Windsor, group chief executive at Abrdn said: “Siobhan was the outstanding candidate, with her impressive skillset and experience that is highly relevant, and complementary to the rest of the leadership team.

“I want to take this opportunity to thank Ian Jenkins for his commitment during the interim period, and I am delighted he will step into a new role as CFO of our investments business when Siobhan joins the company.”

Ian Jenkins will continue to serve as interim group chief financial officer until Boylan starts in the summer. Jenkins assumed this position when Windsor was appointed group chief executive after former chief Stephen Bird stepped down in May 2024.

Following Boylan’s start, Jenkins will take up a new role as the CFO of Abrdn Investments when Boylan takes up the mantle.
