Talentworx seeks to disrupt the Scottish tech recruitment market by leveraging the latest tech with a more hands-on approach to building relationships.

Securing the best of tech talent has never been harder – or more important.

According to the latest Scottish data, labour shortages were the factor most often thought to be affecting turnover among tech firms during the third quarter of 2022 at 20% – double that of the previous quarter.

Talentworx, a spinout of well-known Glasgow-based tech firm, Softworx, aims to help Scottish businesses navigate the ever more competitive tech talent landscape by offering consultation on current practices, advice on future growth, as well as headhunting the best talent available.

With a team boasting 90+ years of combined tech experience, Talentworx aims to take a traditional start-to-end approach to recruitment, with bespoke care rooted in communication, punctuated by the use of the latest technology in video interviewing.

The Scottish Government’s recent report, Building a New Scotland, found that the country’s tech sector is forecast to be the second fastest growing sector (26%) in Scotland by 2029 in terms of gross value added (GVA). The fact is though, securing the best talent to meet this growth comes with its own set of challenges.

Employment has changed, prioritising the quality of work and quality of life over financial reward. Simultaneously, as the cost of living and inflation rises, we’re faced with home-grown quality tech talent requiring shifting demands that can often leave tech firms in pseudo bidding wars to secure employees. As well as challenges in retention, prime candidates are shifting to businesses that offer more flexibility, hybrid working options and inflated compensation and employee benefits.

Taking this on board, Talentworx seeks to ensure tech talent requirements are heard, and that businesses are aware of the current competitive landscape to establish contracts, compensation and fringe benefit packages that attract the best in the field.

Douglas Hamilton, Talentworx, Co-founder & Business Lead, said: “We’ve been working on Talentworx for some time and it’s pretty cool to be able to share more on who we are, and what we’re all about.

“There is no doubt that the Scottish business community are eager to grow and provide their customers with the experience they deserve – yet for many businesses they struggle to source the relevant talent, expertise through what can be a traditional, insular, and inward-looking recruitment offering. At Talentworx, we lead and don’t follow the industry trend, we watch, listen, and make agile decisions to support our overall portfolio of businesses and candidates.

“We’re bursting with talent and look forward to sharing it.”
