“This isn’t just about learning from Estonia,” said the organisers. “It’s about imagining what’s possible when Aberdeen startups build global-first solutions—and understanding how platforms like e-Residency can help make that happen.”

Startup Grind Aberdeen is partnering with Opportunity North East and the Republic of Estonia e-residency programme for a startup exchange event.

The event will offer an opportunity for Scottish startup leaders and entrepreneurs to network and engage with Estonian e-residency experts.

Estonia has more unicorns – tech companies valued at $1bn – per capita than any other nation, underpinned by exceptional digital infrastructure.

The event will provide an opportunity for Scottish business leaders to explore how Estonia’s e-Residency programme is enabling founders worldwide to launch and manage EU-based companies entirely online.

Startup Grind’s joint event will also provide an insider’s look at Latitude59, Estonia’s leading startup conference, where founders, investors, and visionaries come together to shape the future of innovation.

Entrepreneurs will also be given the opportunity to pitch a startup idea live at the event, with a top pitch selected to win a free ticket to Latitude59.

The event will feature Mats Kuuskemaa, country director for Germany, Poland, Switzerland, and Austria at e-Residency Estonia, who will share practical insights on plugging into Estonia’s digital economy.

“This isn’t just about learning from Estonia,” said the organisers. “It’s about imagining what’s possible when Aberdeen startups build global-first solutions—and understanding how platforms like e-Residency can help make that happen.”

The event is aimed at founders, investors, tech professionals, startup enthusiasts, and Aberdeen’s wider business community.

The event will take place on April 24 at 7:30pm at ONE Tech Hub in Aberdeen.

Startup Grid is the world’s largest community of startups, founders, innovators, and creators. The Aberdeen chapter is part of the organisation’s mission to shine a spotlight on the founders building impact on the North of Scotland.
