About 6,000 staff are set to be affected as Lloyds Banking Group overhauls its IT department.
After thousands of roles in technology and engineering across the bank were placed under review weeks ago, employees were informed on Tuesday morning if they were keeping their positions, being placed in new roles, or at risk of losing their job.
It has been reported that most employees have kept their job, though the reshuffle means that some employees may be forced to work in a new office location, or in a role they do not have the risk experience or skills for.
Lloyds credited the overhaul to its ambitions to drive forward its strategic transformation as it shifts to a more digital focus.
The bank aims to ensure that engineers and technologists in the firm have the skills and capability to support its customers digitally as they continue to close branches across the UK.
The company did also assure that a net 1,200 new roles are being created, though some roles will be lost.
New roles will be mainly in the IT department, including software and platform engineering, technology, architecture, and data.
The bank also currently has over 1,000 live vacancies for roles in the UK as it looks to hire people with the right skills for its digitisation.
“As we remain focused on achieving engineering excellence and building highly skilled tech teams as we move faster forward to deliver great outcomes for our customers, we are creating 1,200 net new roles,“ said a spokesperson.

“Making changes means not only creating new roles and up-skilling colleagues, but also saying goodbye to talented people who have been part of the group’s success in the past.
“Where that is the case, we will do everything we can to support them with the changes recently announced.
“We know change can be uncomfortable, but we are excited about the opportunities ahead as we propel forward to achieve our growth ambitions and delivering exceptional customer experiences.”
