This is just the latest in a series of UK banks being affected by major IT disruptions of their digital services.

In yet another system breakdown affecting UK digital banking, hundreds of TSB customer across the UK have reported issues and outages with the bank’s mobile and online platforms.

Customers said the bank was facing an hours-long outage as they saw error messages when trying to access their account information.

TSB’s status page said: “We’re aware some customers are experiencing issues with our Mobile Banking app and Internet Banking.

“We’re sorry for any inconvenience and are working to resolve this as soon as possible.”

Users began reporting issues in the late morning, with peak issue reporting occurring at around 2:30pm, according to Downdetector.

The banking firm said that telephone and in-branch services should be working as normal, but that its digital and mobile banking offerings were facing interruptions.

The bank serves around five million customers, and the first of the month could be a day of particularly high traffic with rent and bill payments due.

This is just the latest in a scourge of outages affecting major UK banks. Just last week HSBC faced an outage that affected millions of customers trying to access its online services.

The recent disruptions follow a major pay day outage that affected several large UK banks, including Lloyds and TSB.
